Building Automation Systems (BAS) Team
Today, buildings are larger and more complex than ever. Business owners and building managers are under increasing pressure to provide occupants with comfortable, secure and energy-efficient environments, and to achieve this, they’re turning to building automation systems (BAS).
At Walton & Company, our BAS team streamlines your facility operations and replaces manual management with centralized, data-driven control over your complex mechanical and electrical networks. Get to know the team behind the technology and see how their expertise helps keep buildings running smarter every day!
Leadership in Action
Leading the department is Controls manager Gary Figdore, who has been with Walton & Company for more than 28 years. He began his career as a service technician and advanced into leadership through decades of field experience and technical expertise.

Today, Gary oversees the BAS Department, developing customer relationships and supporting new business opportunities. With more than 35 years in the industry, he brings extensive knowledge of system design, electrical schematics, wiring and controls integration.
Planning, Coordination & Customer Support
Successful BAS projects depend on thoughtful planning and strong coordination. Helping drive these efforts are Service project manager Jason Kintzel and BAS estimator Michael Gay.

Jason has been with Walton & Company for more than 13 years and manages Controls projects from start to finish. He oversees scheduling, coordinates manpower and procurement, and keeps work moving forward across multiple trades. Jason began his career as an install technician, building a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems that continues to inform his approach to project management.
Michael supports the team by estimating BAS projects and preparing customer proposals, working closely with vendors and contractors for pricing and technical input. Since starting his Controls career as a helper in 2011, Michael has developed a deep understanding of the systems and processes behind successful BAS projects. Today, that experience helps the team deliver accurate estimates and set projects up for success from the start.
System Programming & Advanced Integration
Behind every successful building automation system is intentional programming and integration that brings the design to life.

BAS programmer and technician Ron Sipe has spent more than 12 years helping Walton & Company customers get the most from their systems. A journeyman electrician with extensive controls experience, Ron works closely with project teams to program, commission and optimize building automation systems. His expertise helps ensure each system performs reliably and meets the unique needs of each facility.
Field Installation and Technical Operations
Walton & Company’s installation and service technicians are responsible for bringing building automation systems from design to operation. Their work includes installing and wiring control systems, integrating field devices, commissioning equipment, troubleshooting system issues and providing ongoing service support.
Leading advanced installation and service work is BAS installation technician III Paul Thomas. He supports major construction projects, perform system startup and troubleshooting, and help ensure control systems operate as designed.
Jordan Smith and Gregory Bailey serve as BAS installation technicians II, supporting system installation, controller and sensor setup, field testing and service-related activities. Their work helps ensure systems are properly installed, configured and prepared for commissioning.
Providing installation and wiring support are BAS install technicians I, Justin Barlup and Connor Laughman. Working alongside project teams, they install control panels, field devices and building automation system wiring, helping create the foundation for reliable system operation.
