Since 1989, Walton & Company has been the mechanical partner clients trust to design, build and service the systems their facilities depend on. By keeping every phase of the project under one roof, we deliver better coordination, stronger craftsmanship and clear accountability from day one. When the same team is responsible for the entire system, nothing gets lost in the handoff and every decision is made with long-term performance in mind.
We don’t believe our job ends when construction is complete. We build every mechanical system knowing we’ll be the team servicing it for years to come. That perspective drives the quality of our work and the relationships we build with our clients. Whether it’s a new installation or ongoing service, we take ownership of every system we touch and stand behind it for the long run.

Walton & Company was formally founded April 21, 1989, when estimator Brian Kottcamp, plumber Dick Walton and four other employees set up shop in an old warehouse on Girard Avenue in York, Pennsylvania. Initially focusing on HVAC mechanical contracting and utilizing used equipment for duct fabrication, the team saw rapid success. By the end of its first year, the company grew to 25 employees and $700,000 in revenue, eventually expanding into plumbing and shifting away from residential work to focus strictly on commercial, industrial and institutional clients.

A major milestone arrived in 1994 when the company relocated its corporate headquarters, warehouse and duct fabrication shop to 1800 Industrial Highway, the site of the former Coyne Laundry. This move accommodated a booming workload and a rapidly growing team. By the end of 1994, Walton & Co. had scaled to approximately 50 employees and achieved $7.5 million in annual revenue.

To support its exploding sheet metal demands, the company moved its fabrication operations to a state-of-the-art, 36,600-square-foot facility on Concord Road in 1996, unlocking a production capacity of millions of pounds of ductwork per year. The company’s momentum carried forward into 2010, when the sustained growth of its core service department prompted Walton & Company to cross state lines and open an office in Maryland to better serve its expanding Mid-Atlantic client base.

Walton & Company solidified its reputation as the premier mechanical contractor in central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. Driven by its foundational commitment to design-build projects, the firm utilizes cutting-edge engineering technology—including 3D software and advanced 3D building scanners—to execute complex jobs. The company now thrives as a regional leader with a dedicated team of 240 employees and an annual business volume nearing $60 million.

The year 2025 marked a historic leadership milestone for Walton & Company with the retirement of longtime president Andy Volovar, whose 23-year tenure helped triple the company’s revenue and establish an exceptional workplace culture characterized by an average employee tenure of more than 10 years. Stepping into this foundational role is the new president, Jason Hamme, a trusted company veteran since 1997. Rising through the ranks over nearly three decades—from plumbing laborer, journeyman and foreman to senior-level project manager—Hamme’s comprehensive hands-on expertise and deep operational knowledge uniquely position him to lead the firm’s 250-strong workforce into its next chapter of growth.
